Our Story
The Kirkland Foundation is a 501c3 public charity founded in October 2016 to support animal welfare efforts in the Central Valley. We’re staffed by passionate animal people who believe that every creature matters. We are convinced that we can have an impact on health and welfare of animals in the Central Valley and drive down the area’s appalling euthanasia rates.
Our Mission
Fresno County has an 80% euthanasia rate for cats and a 50% kill rate for dogs. Our mission is to drive these statistics to zero by rescuing, fostering and relocating at risk animals and supporting efforts to advance spay/neuter programs in the area.
